Home School Association

Almost every state in the USA has their own home school association that cater to their state's particular needs. Some cities even have their own home school association. There is also American Homeschool Association that caters to all home school needs no matter where you do your homeschooling. The American Homeschool Association is full of information, articles and resources that will answer any question you might have about home schooling.

Another good source of information for general homeschooling is National Home Education Network. Their mission statement is that they "exists to encourage and facilitate the vital grassroots work of state and local homeschooling organizations and individuals by providing information, fostering networking and promoting public relations on a national level. Because we believe there is strength in a diverse network of homeschoolers, we support the freedom of all individual families to choose home education and to direct such education".

The Home School Legal Defense Association is a nonprofit advocacy organization established to defend and advance the constitutional right of parents to direct the education of their children and to protect family freedoms. Through annual memberships, HSLDA is tens of thousands of families united in service together, providing a strong voice when and where needed.

The Home School Legal Defense Association advocates on the legal front on behalf of our members in matters which include conflicts with state or local officials over homeschooling. Each year, thousands of member families receive legal consultation by letter and phone, hundreds more are represented through negotiations with local officials, and dozens are represented in court proceedings.

Even though the Home School Legal Defense Association is a Christian organization,their mission is to protect the freedom of all homeschoolers. They say that over 500 support groups participate in their group discount program. Religion is not a criterion for participation. They work in conjunction with secular and religious groups alike to promote and protect home education freedoms.
